About the Author

R. Peter Ubtrent was born in Queens,
New York, the son of a Master Watchmaker who had emigrated from Germany
in the 1950s. He lived on Long Island for eight years and then
the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the business
opportunities awaiting there. Mr. Ubtrent grew up in Albuquerque,
where he attended the Albuquerque Academy, a private school for grades
5 through 12. Participating in sports, music and drama, it was
here that he began his writing career during his free periods.
Joining the Naval Reserve after graduating high school, he used the
money earned as well as the money he made working at his father’s store
to get a double major in astrophyics and history. He then went on
to receive a degree in secondary education and a Masters in military
history. Mr. Ubtrent has an extensive library in his home in
Edgewood, New Mexico and is continuing to work on new books.
